Create and Use UTM Templates

Description

UTM parameters help you measure the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns by identifying where your traffic comes from and how visitors interact with your content. Instead of manually entering the same UTM values every time you create a link, Linkkit lets you save reusable UTM Templates.

UTM Templates standardize campaign naming, improve reporting accuracy, and save time by allowing your team to apply the same tracking parameters with just a few clicks.

Why Use UTM Templates?

When multiple people create marketing links, inconsistent UTM naming can make analytics difficult to understand. UTM Templates help keep your tracking organized and consistent across every campaign.

Some common UTM parameters include:

Parameter

Description

utm_source

Identifies where visitors come from, such as Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, or Email.

utm_medium

Specifies the marketing channel, such as social, email, CPC, referral, or display.

utm_campaign

Groups links under a specific marketing campaign.

utm_term

Tracks keywords or audience segments, commonly used for paid search campaigns.

utm_content

Differentiates ads, creatives, buttons, or links within the same campaign.

Using standardized templates helps your team:

  • Maintain consistent campaign naming
  • Reduce manual data entry
  • Improve analytics accuracy
  • Speed up link creation
  • Simplify collaboration across teams
