This guide walks you through the initial setup process so you can start managing your links, monitoring campaign performance, and gaining valuable insights with Linkkit.

Setup Overview

Getting started with Linkkit only takes a few minutes. Follow these steps to configure your workspace and unlock the platform's core features.

1. Create Your Workspace

Set up your workspace name, upload your logo, and configure your basic account settings.

2. Connect a Custom Domain

Use your own branded domain for short links to create a more professional and recognizable experience.

3. Configure Link Settings

Choose your preferred short link format, default redirect behavior, UTM parameters, and QR code options.

4. Enable Analytics

Turn on click tracking, real-time analytics, and conversion tracking to measure campaign performance.

5. Review & Finish

Review your settings and complete your workspace setup.

Step 1: Create Your Workspace

Goal: Configure your Linkkit workspace and personalize your account.

Create your workspace by providing the following information:

Workspace Name

Enter the name of your business, organization, or project. This helps identify your workspace throughout Linkkit.

Example:

Acme Inc.

Workspace Logo

Upload a square logo to personalize your workspace.

Your logo appears throughout the dashboard and helps teammates quickly identify the correct workspace.

For the best results, use a high-quality PNG or SVG image.

Time Zone

Select your preferred time zone.

Analytics reports, campaign activity, and timestamps will use this setting.

Default Language

Choose the language you want to use throughout your Linkkit dashboard.

Click Continue to proceed.

Step 2: Connect a Custom Domain

Goal: Create branded short links using your own domain.

Using a branded domain improves recognition and increases trust when sharing links.

Choose one of the following options:

Use the Default Linkkit Domain

Start creating short links immediately using the default Linkkit domain.

No additional configuration is required.

Connect Your Own Domain

Use a custom domain such as:

go.yourcompany.com

links.yourcompany.com

share.yourbrand.com

Connecting your own domain requires a simple DNS configuration.

Once connected, all newly created short links can use your branded domain.

Default Destination

Optionally configure the default destination for links that are disabled, expired, or unavailable.

Click Continue to move to the next step.

Step 3: Configure Link Settings

Goal: Customize how your short links behave.

Linkkit provides several options to match your workflow.

Short Link Format

Choose how your links will be generated.

Examples:

  • Random characters
  • Custom aliases
  • Campaign-based naming

Redirect Settings

Configure the default redirect behavior for all newly created links.

Examples include:

  • Permanent Redirect (301)
  • Temporary Redirect (302)

QR Code Generation

Automatically create QR codes whenever a new short link is generated.

QR codes can be downloaded in multiple formats and customized later.

UTM Parameters

Automatically append UTM parameters to help measure campaign performance in your analytics platform.

Click Continue when your preferences are configured.

Step 4: Enable Analytics

Goal: Measure the performance of every link you share.

Linkkit provides detailed analytics to help you understand your audience and optimize campaigns.

Enable the analytics features that best fit your needs.

Click Tracking

Record every click on your short links in real time.

Visitor Insights

View detailed information including:

  • Total clicks
  • Unique visitors
  • Countries and cities
  • Devices
  • Browsers
  • Operating systems
  • Referrers

QR Code Analytics

Track QR code scans alongside regular link clicks.

Understand how offline marketing campaigns contribute to your overall traffic.

Conversion Tracking

Connect clicks with meaningful customer actions, such as registrations, purchases, or completed goals.

This allows you to measure the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns from click to conversion.

UTM Analytics

Analyze campaign performance using UTM parameters to understand which traffic sources generate the best results.

Click Continue to review your setup.

Step 5: Review & Complete

Goal: Verify your settings before launching your workspace.

You'll see a summary of your configuration, including:

Workspace Information

  • Workspace name
  • Logo
  • Time zone

Custom Domain

The domain that will be used when creating branded short links.

Example:

go.yourcompany.com

Default Link Settings

Review your preferred redirect behavior, QR code options, and short link format.

Analytics Configuration

Confirm that click tracking, QR code analytics, conversion tracking, and other analytics features are enabled as expected.

If you need to make changes, use the Edit button next to each section.

When everything looks correct, click Finish Setup to activate your Linkkit workspace.
